Secondary Technical School in Prague 5 was established in 1901.
The first lessons started on October 2 after an opening ceremony. The school offered practical education in electronics, mechanical and civil engineering. The school experienced hard times during both wars.
From 1915 it served as a military hospital. 1920´s and 1930´s were successful years. There were nearly 1800 students including evening classes.
During the World War II some teachers and students laid down their lives. There is a memorial tablet in the entrance hall. The school has always provided technical education , later focused mainly on mechanical engineering.
